A HUNGRY gull heads on a collision course with a car – after swooping to collect a roadkill squirrel.

Dashcam footage showed the scavenger bird with the rodent in its beak moments before smashing into a driver’s windscreen.

Dad Callum McAlister, 36, was at the wheel on his way home with his girlfriend and two-year-old daughter in Sauchie, Scotland when he spotted the gull coming straight for them.

He said he and his partner were both in disbelief when they saw what it was carrying.

He added: “Not long after, it strikes the windscreen.

“It was a big thud and there was a long red-coloured wet streak running up the glass.

“We were shocked but we realised the seagull would have just bounced off the car upwards and the squirrel took most of the brunt of the car.

“The seagull was probably fine.”
