Curacao vs Ivory Coast preview

Group E remains one of the tighter groups at this World Cup with something to play for for all four sides going into the last game.

And in a hugely tough group on paper, that’s huge credit to Curacao who bounced back from an opening game thumping by Germany to earn their first ever point last time out.

The 0-0 with Ecuador sparked wild scenes for Curacao and now chase their first ever World Cup win – which could well see them claim the most unlikely of spots in the knockouts, should Ecuador not beat Germany.

That doesn’t look like, so Dick Advocaat’s men have nothing to fear heading into the third game.

Though Ivory Coast will prove a tough opponent, having pushed Germany all the way only to be done by an injury time sucker punch to lose 2-1.

That followed their own late show to just beat Ecuador in their first game so they’re very much in pole position to claim that second spot.
