The Night Manager star took the chance to see a match as the tournament went to her home in the United States this summer.
Camila, who is 22 years younger than her Hollywood A-lister ex, grew up in Los Angeles but was in Texas to witness her country claim a third win of the group stage.
Messi bagged from a free-kick as Argentina won 3-1 against Jordan, cruising through to the knockouts.
They will face Cape Verde on Friday night in the last-32 as they seek to win a second consecutive World Cup.

And Camila was overjoyed. She wrote on Instagram afterwards: “You will never understand the pride I feel in being Argentine!!!!!!

The actress and model, who was raised by film royalty Al Pacino for a decade as a child, dated Oscar winner DiCaprio between 2017 and 2022.
She rocked a sleeveless Argentina shirt which strapped up at the back for the game.
Wearing a light blue Argentina bucket hat and white jeans, she smiled and cheered outside the stadium.
Once at her seat – and now with her country’s flag face painted on – Camila put her hands on her head in disbelief.
Carrying a white handbag, she posted a pic of Messi preparing to come on as a sub.
Camila posed with fans, putting up two fingers in the peace sign, and took a selfie with the pitch in the background.
One of her 5.4million Insta followers wrote: “What a woman!”
Another added: “We love you and thank you for saying with so much pride that you are Argentina!!!”
A third said simply: “I love you”.
