DOZENS of Post Office branches across the UK are set to close before the end of the year.
The closures form part of Morrisons plans to shutter around 100 convenience locations.

A total of 52 Post Office (PO) branches are set to close by early October, with communities across the UK affected.
Many of the locations are based in Southern England, with consultation documents also showing some sites in Wales, Scotland and the North of England, reports Better Retailing.
Morrisons announced the Daily convience closures in May, blaming rising employment costs as the main reason behind the “tough but necessary decision”.
The affected convenience stores were acquired as part of Morrisons’ £190million rescue deal in 2022.

Morrisons is consulting with affected staff and said it would look to offer workers alternative roles elsewhere in the business where possible.
MPs in some affected constituencies have reportedly entered talks with Morrisons and the PO in an attempt to protect local postal services.
It marks the latest wave of mass closures to hit the PO network in recent months.
In June, the PO announced a wave of branch closures associated with TG Jones store closures, with more expected to follow.
The PO confirmed it is on the hunt for replacement stores that can host branches.
The expected Morrisons Daily and TG Jones closures could put the PO close to falling below the government’s requirement of at least 11,500 PO sites.
