WIMBLEDON pundit CoCo Vandeweghe was rushed to hospital after suffering a “serious fall” on the way to the tournament.

The American star, who twice made the quarter-finals at the All England Club, has been working as a pundit and commentator for ESPN.

While on her way to Wimbledon last week, Vandeweghe sustained horror injuries following a freak fall.

She broke her chin and was left needing new teeth and stitches.

Explaining what happened, Vandeweghe said: “Last Tuesday, on my walk to Wimbledon, I had an unexpected accident and took a pretty serious fall.

“I ended up biting through my lip, fracturing my chin and chipping my two front teeth.

“It was a scary experience, but I’m so grateful to say my stitches are out.

“I got my new teeth a couple of days ago and I’m healing well. Best of all, I’m back at work.

“This past week has reminded me just how fortunate I am to be surrounded by incredible people.

“Thank you to my friend Elena, who was by my side the moment I called for help; to my mum and fiance, Daniel, who immediately flew to London to be with me.

Vandeweghe has since taken to Instagram to share photos of paramedics wheeling her into the back of an ambulance on a hospital bed.

There were also snaps of her new teeth getting put in.

Vandeweghe retired from tennis three years ago.

During her playing days, the former world No9 reached the semi-finals of both the Australian Open and US Open in 2017.
