Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Jattvibeday dedicated the renovated historic watermills (Gharats) and a newly developed park at Sular to the public. The Rs 60 lakh project, undertaken by the Punjab Government, is being described as a major gift to residents of the constituency.Cheema said the watermills had remained in a dilapidated condition for years and are believed to be the only surviving historic mills of their kind in Punjab. He stressed that their preservation was crucial.The project restored the traditional grinding units and transformed the surrounding area into a public space. A modern park has been developed for children and local residents, while new rooms have been built for Canal Department staff to facilitate their work.
