The Punjab Police’s flagship anti-gangster campaign “Gangstran Te Vaar” has completed 200 days, marking one of the state’s most sustained crackdowns on organised crime.During the operation, the police conducted 1,09,087 raids across Punjab, arrested 1,532 proclaimed offenders and initiated action against more than 58,000 criminals and their associates. A massive cache of illegal weapons and narcotics was seized.Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the intelligence-driven campaign was aimed at dismantling syndicates through targeted enforcement, interstate and international coordination, financial investigations and technology-led policing.In 200 days, the police action covered 1,04,927 persons, including 2,959 gangsters and their associates and 1,01,968 wanted criminals. Of these, 28,201 were detained under preventive measures, while 18,514 were verified and released.
