THREE former The One Show hosts are set to return to the hit BBC programme as it marks its 20th anniversary on-air.

To mark the special occasion, regular hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp will celebrate with a week of special programmes starting from tomorrow (August 10).

Former presenters Matt Baker and Christine Lampard will appear live on the iconic red sofa as they reflect on their time on the show.

Not only that, but Adrian Chiles will return in a special film this week.

With Alex, 49, and Roman, 33, holding down the fort in the studio, a whole host of familiar faces will be presenting live across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The epic week will culminate on Friday (August 14) with an extended hour-long anniversary special.

The One Show at 20 will see the duo joined by the wider family of presenters, including JB Gill, Vernon Kay, Angellica Bell, Clara Amfo and Lauren Laverne.

BBC Commissioning Editor, Alex McLeod said: “For 20 years, The One Show has brought the nation together every weekday evening, becoming one of the BBC’s most-loved programmes and home to some of television’s biggest interviews, unforgettable live moments, inspiring stories and exclusive performances.

“This celebration pays tribute to that and how important it is to have The One Show at the heart of the national conversation, reflecting the people, places and stories that matter most across the UK.”

Alex expressed: “I’m looking forward to reminiscing, reminding myself of brilliant moments and having some of the past presenters back with us, alongside the current team.

“When I started, I was younger than Roman is now. And I’ve done allthe big life stuff with our audience – met my husband, got married, bought the house, had the children… so I feel like I’ve grown up on the show.”

Roman added: “”It’s a huge privilege to be part of The One Show celebrations.

“I am very proud, but I think privilege is the real feeling. It’s such a responsibility to show people how nice this country is.

“I feel like the show is a representation of the best people and things that we don’t know about.

“I have learnt so much about where I live and where I am from through this show.”

Matt hosted the show from 2011 to 2020 while Christine was on hosting duties from 2007 to 2010.

Meanwhile, Adrian was a presenter on the show for four years, from 2006 to 2010.

Alex is the longest-serving host, having been a part of the show for 16 years.

I’m A Celebrity star Roman took over on the BBC One programme back in 2022.

The hit talk show launched in 2006 as a pilot before coming back as a full series the following year.
