THE son of a former Premier League cult hero has undergone a dramatic body transformation since hanging up his boots.
Players are no strangers to drastic new looks after calling it a day, with many piling on the beef due to a lack of exercise.

Some, however, opt to go down the health and fitness route.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea stars Mesut Ozil and Fernando Torres are part of that group having put on several pounds of muscle since their respective retirements.

Diego has clearly hit the gym hard over the last six years, as he’s no longer the lean and mean running machine he was once.
He’s now a hulking ball of muscle with biceps a prime Arnold Schwarzenegger would be proud of.
Diego’s passion for bodybuilding is apparent from his Instagram page, which is full of videos of himself performing some incredible lifts in gruelling workouts.
His incredible body transformation is clearly the result of hundreds of hours of grafting in the gym and adhering to a strict diet.

And according to his old man, it’s also the result of him forgoing several of life’s pleasures.
The Uruguayan said of his son’s transformation into a bodybuilder: “From what I understand, because I’m not a specialist, is he’s 100 per cent in everything that he does – to the top.
“For example, we went to dinner one day and people will have a beer or a glass of wine – no chance.

Diego, according to his old man, doesn’t drink and refrains from eating desserts when dining out Credit: INSTAGRAM@DIEGOPOYET
“He doesn’t touch alcohol. Never.
“We finished dinner and we put three or four desserts in the middle; proper, proper desserts.
“I love them, but he doesn’t touch them.
“So his way of behaving, what his aim is, he’s 100 per cent, he’s not 99 per cent.
“His way of training, knowing when he needs to grow, when he needs to slim down, when he needs to do a kind of diet, it’s all proper.”
