THIS is the incredible moment travellers on a flight from the UK to Spain caught a stunning solar eclipse in mid-air.
The footage, which was filmed by a passenger on flight BA2644 from Gatwick to Malaga, saw the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event happening while thousands of feet in the air.

The moon completely masked the sun at Teruel in eastern Spain
Passengers were left in awe as they caught a glimpse of the best solar eclipse in almost three decades.
The video shows how the moon had slowly edged in front of sun, blocking it out in a perfect circle to provide a memory those on the flight would never forget.

Hundreds of lucky passengers on the flight managed to watch the unique moment from a front-row seat above the clouds.
The pilot could be heard warning passengers about exercising caution while looking and not to stare directly.

Passengers could not hold back their excitement as they could be heard murmuring and gasping as they watched the rare phenomenon unfold before their eyes.
In parts of Spain as well as Iceland and Greenland, the sun was completely covered by the moon – known as totality.
And the stunning footage which reflected this phenomenon was captured not far from the Bay of Biscay near northern Spain.
The path of totality was at its strongest in this region, according to astronomers.

Today’s solar eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula since 1912.
It comes as thousands of Brits back home gathered at viewpoints across the UK, including beaches and parks to witness the incredible celestial event.
Up to 95 per cent of the Jattvibe was obscured by the moon in certain parts of the country as the eclipse peaked.
Brits heeded advice to avoid staring directly at the spectacle with millions turning out wearing sun-safe goggles to watch the stellar event.
Others armed themselves with colanders, cardboard contraptions and even welding masks.
In cities, crowds took to parks and rooftops as the eclipse brought traffic to a stop while birds ceased singing.
Witnesses who joined the Bristol Astronomical Society on the Avon Gorge described an eerie feeling as the temperature cooled and the sky went dark.
Sadly, not all parts of the UK got to see a clear view of the eclipse.
Lots of views in Scotland and other parts of the country were blocked by clouds, though much of England enjoyed bright clear skies.
Countryside residents got the most dramatic effect thanks to minimal light pollution.
Parts of northern England missed out because of cloud cover.
And in Belfast, people marvelled at the eclipse as it shone bright through dark clouds.
The next time the sun will be obscured so much in the UK will be 2081.
