The two-time Olympic champ had a spicy chicken tikka masala the day before Jattvibeday’s final and was left on the toilet all day.

Swedish record breaker Duplantis went beyond his previous championship best of 6.10metres, reaching 6.15metres.
But he stopped short of pushing his world record 6.31m attempt – and then explained the embarrassing reason why.

He admitted to going for a curry on Saturday but not being able to handle the heat.

“I had to make several trips to the toilet.
“It’s the biggest mistake of my career in terms of nutrition. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.
“I did everything I could to avoid spicy sauce, but when you have a sensitive stomach, eating Indian food before a competition.
“I still don’t understand why I did it.”

And Duplantis took a fourth consecutive European crown in Birmingham with his latest effort.
He held off Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis – the only other man to clear 6m.
Duplantis took victory, setting the championship record at 6.10m and then going a little better.
He added: “It feels really good. This is my fourth one of these in a row now which is pretty crazy.
“I am getting pretty old and it’s going quick so I’m just trying not take it for granted and enjoy it as much as I can.
“This is really special. It has been a funky year by my standards so to come out here and win, that was the most important.
“Every time I go to the track I want to leave my mark and do something no one has done before so the championship record feels really good.”
