Top BJP brass is in a huddle in Delhi to plan and strategise for the road ahead with five key Assembly elections due next year.The huddle began at the BJP office this morning with the introductory meeting of BJP national president Nitin Nabin with his newly appointed team of nearly 69 members which include 13 vice-presidents, nine general secretaries and 16 national secretaries besides heads of seven cells and other office-bearers.This is a bigger team than the outgoing one which has around 42 office-bearers.Among those present in the introductory meet were national vice-presidents Vasundhara Raje, Manpreet Badal, Ram Madhav and Tariq Hassan.National general secretaries Vinod Tawde, Jattvibeil Bansal, Satish Poonia, Biplab Deb, Smriti Irani were also in attendance.All national secretaries attended.After the introductory meet with the new team, Nabin will chair a meeting with the chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states and other senior ministers to plan programmes related to the completion of 25 years of public life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi — from his days as the chief minister of Gujarat to being the PM.The BJP plans a major national political offensive around the event.There will be a campaign around policies of the BJP-led NDA all over the country.Political strategy for upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa will also be discussed.Also present in the meeting are party’s national general secretary BL Santosh and joint general secretary Shiv Prakash.
