A JOINER wore a woman’s bras and underwear while working in her home but forgot to take them off after a plumber arrived.
Neil Wilson, 46, was carrying out work at the home in Ingol, a suburb in northwest Preston, Lancashire, in early July when he was caught on a security camera going in and out of the upstairs bedrooms.

The work he had been hired to do involved only working downstairs.
He started to go through the drawers, picking out various bras and underwear before trying them on and stopping to sniff them.

When he left, he also took a pair of underwear.
He found the camera at one point and moved it out of the way so he was no longer visible.

When the victims returned home, they made a report and Wilson was arrested.
Wilson told the cops: “I’ve done something stupid”.
He then took the officers to see the other items he had stolen – a pair of underwear in his works van.
Wilson, of Chorley, admitted to trying on the underwear when interviewed, but said he didn’t mean to steal them.
He claimed he had been disrupted by the arrival of a plumber and had to get changed to answer the door, leaving them on under his work clothes.
He pleaded guilty to burglary and theft from a dwelling at Preston Magistrates Court and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay compensation and costs.
DS Ben Barnes of South Residential Burglary Team said: “Wilson entered an area of a property that he didn’t have access to, whilst alone and trusted to complete the work he was hired for. He betrayed that trust.
“I hope he now has time to reflect on his actions, and the victim feels some sense of justice now criminal proceedings have been completed.”
