Nagoya: India secured its sixth shooting medal at the Asian Games as the women’s skeet team comprising Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won a bronze with a combined score of 331 here on Wednesday.The skeet event has each shooter trying to get the maximum of 125 allocated points. Parinaaz and Raiza both collected 111 points out of a possible 125, while Maheshwari logged home 109 to clinch another  podium finish.Meanwhile, double Olympic medallist shooter Manu Bhaker qualified for the women’s 10m air pistol final after finishing third in the qualification round at the Asian Games here on Wednesday.Bhaker, who won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, shot 579 to finish third, while Esha Singh ended 15th with 572 and missed out on a place in the final. Suruchi Singh finished 26th with a score of 568.India also missed out on a medal to Vietnam in the 10m air rifle women’s team event, finishing fourth on the basis of inner 10s after both teams were tied on 1719.India have so far collected five shooting medals—four silver and a bronze—but the elusive gold has remained out of reach.Jay Meena assures India”s first-ever soft tennis medalSeptember 23, 2026 9:20 amIndia’s Jay Meena scripted history by reaching the semifinals and assuring himself of a medal after seeing off the Philippines’ Sherwin Nuguit in a seven-game thriller in the men’s singles soft tennis event at the Asian Games on Wednesday. It is India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in soft tennis. Playing in his third Asian Games, Meena notched up a 4-3 win over Nuguit to progress to the semifinals. He had also participated in the 2018 and 2022 editions. Meena had earlier defeated Pakistan’s Arain Hussain 4-0 in Group D to qualify for the quarterfinals.
