Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal is set to resume his public and party activities from Tuesday, nearly two weeks after he was injured in a murderous attack in Nanded, Maharashtra, on August 13.Badal is scheduled to pay obeisance at Takht Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda district on Tuesday afternoon. A large number of SAD leaders and workers are expected to accompany him.Ravipreet Singh Sidhu, SAD in-charge for the Talwandi Sabo Assembly constituency, told The Tribune that party activists would accompany the SAD president during his visit to the Takht.”After paying obeisance, Sukhbir ji will go to his residence at Badal village,” said Ravipreet.Meanwhile, sources said Badal would attend the party’s Punjab Bachao Rally at Malout on Wednesday. The Youth Akali Dal (YAD) has planned a roadshow to welcome him to the town.Sources further said Badal would thereafter go to Amritsar to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple. He is also scheduled to address the SAD’s political conference at Baba Bakala in Amritsar district on August 28.Badal is currently in Delhi.Notably, in his absence while recuperating from an arm injury, his wife and four-time Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has been leading the party’s main events, including rallies.
