A RUNWAY marshal has died after he was allegedly struck by a taxiing plane at one of Canada’s busiest airports.
The employee was hit by the French bee budget airliner as it reversed in front of horrified passengers at Montreal airport, police said.

The victim, said to be in his forties, was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Recalling the horrific incident, one witness told Radio-Canada that “many passengers were screaming.”

She said that she saw the man pass under the plane while it was moving before the fatal hit occurred.
Montreal airport mourned the loss of the worker, describing the incident as an “unfortunate and tragic workplace accident”.

Airport president and CEO Yves Beauchamp said: “The loss of a member of our airport community affects us all deeply.
“During this difficult time, our thoughts are with the employee’s family, loved ones and colleagues, to whom we extend our heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences.”
The airport refused to comment further “out of respect for the victim and their loved ones”.
The plane involved was scheduled to take-off bound for Paris at 6pm on Monday, with emergency measures being deployed at 7.30pm.
It had reportedly been scheduled to leave the day before, but was postponed due to a technical problem.
Police have ruled out a criminal investigation into the tragedy but two probes have been launched into the incident.
French bee said that it is cooperating with investigators.
The airline added: “[Our] immediate priority is caring for those affected by the incident and supporting its passengers and crew.”
The tragedy comes a month after an aircraft engineer died after he was crushed to death inside a Boeing 787 fuel tank.
Machinery suddenly fell on popular aircraft technician Georgie Buxton at Heathrow Airport.
Buxton, 23, was rushed to hospital after the horrifying accident, which happened as he was carrying out maintenance tests inside a hangar on June 11.
His family later took the heartbreaking decision to switch off his life support.
The plane he was working on has been taken out of service since the accident while experts try to understand how the tragedy occurred.
A source told The Jattvibe: “Georgie was a young and very loved member of the team. Everyone at Virgin is in shock.
“It was not immediately clear what caused the death, and officials have grounded the jet until further notice on safety grounds.
“Heavy metal cannot fall from a jet machinery and the plane be allowed to continue flying.”
