While Aldi offers a variety of smaller compact fans, including the £6.99 Ambiano Fan with Flexible Tripod, its main answer to the portable handheld fan is the Ambiano Jet Fan, priced at £16.99.

While it is more than double the price of Lidl’s Tronic Portable Fan, £7.99, it does boast a two-in-one function.

As well as keeping you cool in the hot weather, it can also be used as a vacuum pump, with various attachments included in the packaging.

Meanwhile, the Lidl option boasts three speed settings, a tiltable fan head, and comes with a charging cable.

Globe Fan v Tronic Bladeless Fan

Aldi’s auto-rotating £39.99 Globe Fan is designed for desk top use, offering an LED display and 10 speed settings.

There are also three modes, including one for overnight use, as well as a timer setting, and it comes with a remote control.

Meanwhile, Lidl is offering a Tronic Bladeless Desk Fan for the same price, with a mini version available for £14.99 and a full-size version priced at £59.99.

The desk top fan boasts a whopping 10 speed settings (or three in the mini version), as well as a timer function and an oscillation setting.

Aldi also offers the slightly more affordable Ambiano Portable Telescopic Fan for just £24.99, with eight speed settings, 120-degree rotation, and an LED night light.

Which supermarket cooling range offers the best value?

While Aldi’s cooling range, which is set to launch on Thursday, July 2, price matches Lidl’s air cooler, it falls short in handheld and desktop devices, which are significantly pricier than some of Lidl’s options.

However, it is worth remembering that a lot of these items offer different features and are not necessarily directly comparable.

Lidl’s cooling range is currently in stores, and while the popular air conditioner is already out of stock, you can still choose from a wide range of cooling buys, inclusing cooling pillows and pet mats.
