Men looking for occasion wear that blends Indian heritage with contemporary style had plenty to take away from Tasva’s latest showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI.On Day 3 of the fashion event, held at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, couturier Tarun Tahiliani presented a menswear collection that reimagined traditional Indian silhouettes through modern tailoring, intricate craftsmanship and a focus on comfort. Actor Ali Fazal, best known for Mirzapur, turned showstopper for the label in an ivory angarkha paired with a structured bandhgala ensemble. The appearance was particularly special for Fazal, who turned 40 on Thursday. Adding a celebratory touch to the occasion, designer Rimple Narula performed a traditional aarti before the actor’s walk down the runway. The collection centred on the idea of making Indian occasion wear relevant to the modern man while preserving the richness of traditional craftsmanship. The colour palette leaned towards understated beige and ivory, complemented by shades of blue, emerald and pink. This allowed the detailing to stand out, with artisanal techniques such as aari work, zardozi embroidery and mirror work lending texture and depth to the ensembles.Classic sherwanis were revisited with asymmetrical elements and sharp tailoring, while sleek dinner jackets and Indo-Western outfits offered contemporary alternatives for weddings and festive celebrations. Appliqué work and three-dimensional detailing further enhanced the garments, while coordinated accessories and sunglasses added a modern finishing touch.Speaking about the collection, Tahiliani said, “At Tasva, our approach has always been to make Indian occasion wear feel relevant to the way men dress and celebrate today… From the intricate embroidery techniques to the modern interpretation of classic sherwanis and tailoring, every element reflects our belief that tradition should continue to evolve. We wanted to create a wardrobe that allows the modern groom to celebrate his heritage while expressing his own personality,” he added.Spotlight on NitanshiActress Nitanshi Goel, who shot to fame with the critically acclaimed film ‘Laapataa Ladies’, stole the spotlight on the second day of Lakme Fashion Week 2026 in New Delhi as she walked the ramp as the showstopper for ace designer Jattvibeeet Varma on Thursday.Jattvibeeet Verma’s label SV presented its latest collection Kashi, which is a modern interpretation of the garments, colours, textures and visual language inspired by the timeless city of Kashi.New Delhi: Actor Nitanshi Goel walks the ramp as showstopper for designer Jattvibeeet Varma during the Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, in New Delhi, Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026.
