Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, arrested in the Ajnala police station violence case, has been sent to five-day judicial custody. His two-day police remand ended on Friday. He was taken into police custody after his detention under the National Security Act ended on Thursday.Singh appeared before the Ajnala Sub-Divisional Court via video conference from Dibrugarh, Assam. Defence counsel Harpal Singh Khara said the police did not seek an extension of remand, following which the court ordered judicial custody. Singh will be sent back to Dibrugarh Central Jail and is scheduled to appear again on April 30.The Amritsar Rural police had earlier sought 15-day police remand to recover weapons and vehicles allegedly used in the February 2023 incident, including the vehicle used to carry the Guru Granth Sahib to the police station. The court had granted only two days, which expired on Friday.
