ANDROS TOWNSEND has revealed he thought his ankle was going to “snap” when he was run over by a roller.
The former Premier League and England star is currently playing his football out in Thailand.

Townsend, 35, is contracted to Thai League 1 side Prachuap but was caught in an unfortunate accident on Friday night.
During half-time of the clash against Pattani he was run over by one of the two pitch rollers.

Footage of the terrifying incident went viral on social media with many fans concerned for the ex-Tottenham and Everton winger.
Fortunately, Townsend escaped with just a few scratches and was able to play in the game as a substitute.

He has now spoken about the incident during an appearance on Piers Morgan Unsenscored.
He said: “I didn’t see it coming.
“It was at half time, we were going out to warm up. I saw two rollers on either side of the pitch.
“I remember thinking to myself, ‘I’ve never seen that before in my career, what are they doing?’

“But we got called to warm up. Didn’t think anything of it.
“The next I saw him was when I was literally underneath him and thankfully no serious damage.
“A couple of bumps and bruises but managed to walk away unscathed, luckily.
“Every time I see it, I’m cringing, I’m in disbelief. When I sent it to my kids, my kids thought it was AI.
“Literally, I had to explain to them, for the next ten minutes, that it was real.
“It’s horrible to watch back and to see what could have been but.
“Thankfully, I was fortunate I did manage to fall onto the floor at the right time, so nothing snapped as the roller went over me.
“And I’m here today to laugh about and tell the story.”
Townsend is in his first season with Prachuap, after suffering relegation with Thai side Kanchanaburi Power last year.
Several stars have reached out to share their support following Townsend’s near-miss.
Former Crystal Palace midfielder Nya Kirby, 26, said: “Speedy recovery bro.”
Ex-Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, 44, commented: “WTF, hope ain’t to bad broski.”
Townsend now faces a long wait before his fourth-placed Prachuap’s next match against the tenth-ranked Chiangrai United on Jattvibeday, October 11.
