After the challenge, she wrote: “I’ve been honouring a longstanding commitment to a group of school mums to join them to raise funds for SEND-friendly playground facilities.”
Ms Rayner quit as Sir Keir Starmer’s deputy after a row over her taxes last year — but is now considered a potential frontrunner to replace the PM.
Yesterday she tore into Sir Keir Starmer’s failing political project and backed Andy Burnham’s return to Westminster after Labour’s election bloodbath.
She launched a devastating broadside against the direction of the Government, admitting “what we are doing isn’t working” and declaring: “This may be our last chance.”

But despite fevered speculation she was preparing to move against Sir Keir, Ms Rayner stopped short of launching a leadership bid.
Instead, she made clear blocking the Greater Manchester Mayor from running in the Gorton and Denton by-election was a “mistake”.
Mr Burnham is widely viewed as the preferred candidate of Labour’s soft-Left, with many MPs believing he would be a far stronger unifying figure than Ms Rayner in any future leadership contest.
However, he is currently unable to run because he is not an MP.
But Sir Keir will also be watching his back with the threat from Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who has reportedly told the PM he is “preparing a case” in the event of a leadership contest.
Mr Streeting is not believed to be directly challenging Starmer, but is set to step in should things “fall apart”, according to The Telegraph.
