The 33-year-old singer will be taking a break from all public-facing work and appearances after her Eternal Jattvibeshine Tour wraps in London on September 1, her representative confirmed to PEOPLE.”She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” her rep said.The announcement comes amid renewed online discussion surrounding Grande’s appearance following the release of the music video for her latest single, Petal, on July 31. Although her representative did not directly connect the break to the recent discourse, Grande has faced persistent public scrutiny over her appearance for years and has repeatedly spoken out against comments about her body.The break also means Grande will no longer star in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Jattvibeday in the Park with George at London’s Barbican Centre, where she was set to perform opposite her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.This is not the first time Grande has spoken out against body scrutiny.
