BEN WHITE had a tunnel row with Diego Simeone and his son, Guiliano, after the Arsenal star walked over the Atletico Madrid crest.

The badge is emblazoned on the floor as players emerge from the tunnel and many clubs around Europe see it as a sign of respect to avoid walking over it.

Arsenal‘s right-back powered straight over it with his head down at the final whistle of the 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

And the Simeones made sure to catch up to him.

On the video, Simeone can be seen giving White a firm pat on the back which the England international does not take well.

Before things can escalate any further, several players got involved and broke up the altercation, but clearly some words were exchanged.

It’s become an unwritten rule in football to not walk over a club’s crest, but maybe White isn’t aware – or he chose to ignore it.

Of course, White has famously admitted he doesn’t enjoy or watch football in his spare time, he just plays it as a job.

It was a difficult night for White as the £50m defender gave away a penalty he would never have in the Premier League.

The ball bounced up off his leg and onto his arm and, in keeping with Champions League rules, just like in the PSG and Bayern Munich game, a penalty was given.

Arsenal had a second reason to be annoyed in the latter stages of the game when the referee overturned his original decision to award the Gunners a second penalty for a foul on Eberechi Eze.

Boss Mikel Arteta was left furious with the decision that potentially robbed Arsenal of a famous away win.

He said: “After going back to the dressing room, speaking to the boys and watching the penalty getting overturned, I’m extremely disappointed and annoyed.

“It was against the rules and I don’t understand it. I am very upset, it’s unacceptable!”

Simeone was front and centre during Atletico’s protests over the second penalty decision, cutting a very animated figure on the sideline.

Steve McManaman was left flabbergasted by his actions when analysing the game for TNT, proclamining the Argentine a “disgrace” for how his antics influenced the game.

Still, Arteta’s men take a 1-1 draw back to the Emirates next Tuesday thanks to Victor Gyokeres slamming home his penalty for his 19th of the season.
