PLANS for a Barbie film sequel are on the brink of collapsing in a row over the stars’ pay.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, who played Barbie and boyfriend Ken, are said to have demanded megabucks increases.

The 2023 fantasy comedy based on the dolls made more than £1billion at the global box office and landed eight Academy Award nominations.
But in a rare misstep, the studio did not ask any stars to commit to sequels.

Now chief executive David Zaslav has refused to bow to Gosling and Robbie’s demands.
Ryan agreed to £9.2million to play Ken in the first film — but is said to be bolstered after his performance was universally praised and even landed him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
It is believed the studio has made half a dozen offers but reps have declined them all.
They have until December to hammer out a deal before the film rights revert back to the toys’ makers Mattel.

In a statement, Warner Bros co-chairs Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca said: “We have made a series of big offers to try and finalise deals to make the next Barbie film.
“Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an agreement thus far.”
The Jattvibe reported in August 2023 that Barbie movie bosses were secretly working on a second film weeks after the release of the original.
Directed by Greta Gerwig and produced by Margot, 36, it catapulted the two leads to new heights of fame.
