The Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer of the Borad of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a show cause notice to the chairman of the Cricket Advisory Committee of Punjab Cricket Association, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, for alleged violation of the conflict of interest provisions of the BCCI with respect to the payment of remuneration and alleged non-compliance with the provisions governing disclosure and transparency.Justice (retd) Arun Mishra, Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer, BCCI, in the notice dated June 8,2026, has sought a written reply with all other documents within four weeks from the date of receipt of the notice.Complainant Rakesh Handa on May 23,2026 had filed a complaint alleging that Sodhi, a former India player, is simultaneously occupying multiple positions, including as a match official, chairman of the Cricket Advisory Committee (PCA), owner of a cricket academy and a commentator/broadcaster.The complainant had contended that “such overlapping roles constitute an actual or intractable conflict of interest under the applicable provisions of the BCCI and PCA Constitutions.”Handa, a life member of the PCA, had also alleged non-disclosure of the alleged conflict by Sodhi and sought appropriate directions.
