The iconic Beating Retreat Ceremony at the Attari–Wagah Border has received a revised schedule, effective on Friday. The daily spectacle will now take place from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm, shifting from its earlier slot of 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.Officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) said that the change has been made in view of the intense summer heat. The ceremony’s timings are usually changed in response to changing daylight patterns and seasonal weather conditions.Every evening, the Attari Border transforms into a stage of electrifying patriotism as Indian BSF jawans and Pakistani Rangers perform their synchronised, high-energy drills. The thunderous chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, rhythmic marching, and ceremonial lowering of the national flags create an atmosphere of pride and unity. The event draws thousands of visitors daily, including from across the country and abroad, who gather at the Attari joint check post to witness the spectacle.Authorities have advised visitors to arrive well in advance to fully experience this ceremony. The Retreat Ceremony at Attari continues to stand as one of India’s most powerful symbols of national pride, discipline, and the deep emotional bond citizens share with their nation’s borders.
