The discount retailer is taking over a massive 13,660 sq ft unit at Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling.

The new store is expected to open this winter as part of the ongoing transformation of the shopping centre.

Shoppers will also be able to pick up DIY essentials, toys, games and gifts at the chain’s famously low prices.

The arrival of the retailer is also expected to create a number of new jobs for local people ahead of the busy festive period.

A spokesperson for B&M Thistles Stirling told Retail Times: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people.”

They added: “We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

Gary Turnbull, centre director at Thistles, confirmed the retailer would be moving into the former Debenhams unit later this year.

He said: “This is a really positive step for the centre.”

Turnbull added: “Bringing a much-loved brand into such a prominent space reflects the continued demand we’re seeing from both retailers and shoppers.”

He also said the shopping centre was continuing to evolve following ongoing investment and strong footfall from visitors.

The B&M announcement follows a string of recent additions to Thistles, including Rituals, Lovisa and Miniso joining the centre.

B&M has continued to expand across the UK in recent years, regularly opening new stores in former department stores and vacant high street units.
