A BRITISH businessman has mysteriously vanished without a trace after leaving a nightclub in Budapest – as cops launch a desperate search.
John Robert Joseph Tovell, 45, was last seen in the early hours of Tuesday in the Hungarian capital while on a work trip to meet potential investors.

Local police said John left a club in Budapest’s VII District, also known as Erzsebetvaros, before vanishing.
He had been in Hungary on a business trip to meet investors interested in buying UK property.
Budapest Police have launched a missing persons investigation into John’s disappearance.
The urgent search to locate the wealthy businessman is still underway.

John is described as being around 190 centimetres tall with short greying hair and a beard.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black trousers, a black T-shirt and a dark green long-sleeved shirt, cops say.
Local police also released a photograph of the missing businessman and appealed to the public for information about his whereabouts.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have seen him or knows where he is to come forward.
John had reportedly arrived in Budapest five days before he vanished from one of Budapest’s busiest entertainment areas.
His mobile phone has been switched off since his disappearance and there has also been no activity on his bank cards since, local media reports.
John is the founder of Cardinal Rock, a London-based property investment company that helps clients build and expand property portfolios across the UK.
The entrepreneur has been described in local reports as a frequent traveller who regularly visits destinations around the world and likes going to concerts.
Investigators are set to examine CCTV footage from the VII and VIII districts of Budapest in a bid to trace his final known movements.
Before his disappearance, Cardinal Rock published updates stating that John had travelled to Hungary on business.
They previously said he was due to meet international investors, partners and property professionals in Budapest interested in UK property investment opportunities.
Police have not disclosed any information suggesting that foul play was involved.
