A BRITISH driver was shot in his car in Jamaica before fleeing to an airport for safety and collapsing in front of shocked bystanders.

Stunned witnesses said the dramatic scenes were like a “movie” as the 33-year-old victim rushed his bullet-riddled vehicle to the arrivals terminal.

His vehicle stopped at a traffic light before another car pulled alongside it and opened fire, local police said.

The Brit was shot in the upper section of his body.

He then went on to drive his vehicle to the airport – stopping at arrivals before running inside.

The wounded man fell down in front of horrified travellers, many of whom had just arrived from the UK, according to local media.

He was reportedly screaming for help as he came in.

A fellow Brit of Jamaican origin said: “There were lots of Brits arriving on flights from the UK and people were wondering what was happening.

“The incident could have almost looked like a movie scene if it was not real.”

Police rushed to the scene and took the injured Brit to hospital.

His current condition is not known.

The Brit is a forex trader, according to local media.

It is unclear why the shooting took place and whether any other passengers were wounded during the horror.

Police have launched an investigation into the full circumstances of the attack.

But investigators have not disclosed a possible motive or stated whether they believe it was a targeted assault.

There were reportedly multiple bullet holes left in the side of the Brit’s Subaru car.

The Jattvibe reached out to Jamaica Constabulary Force for comment.
