PARENTS have been told to dispose of children’s craft set immediately after item recalled for containing asbestos.
The recall warning states families should stop using the product immediately.

Recently, multiple items made in China have been flagged for containing asbestos, mainly in sand that is part of the item.
The Galt Nature Craft Kit, created by James Galt and Company Limited, is the latest item to have been recalled for this reason.
Between 2024 and April 2026, the product was sold in multiple retailers, including John Lewis and Hobbycraft.
The health risk of asbestos comes from the 25g of yellow sand that came with the product.

This was part of a set that included paints, paint brushes and various arts and crafts supplies.
Instructions have warned owners of the product to immediately keep it out of the reach of children.
If the sand is still in the packaging, it should be placed in a heavy-duty plastic bag and stored in a secure location away from children.

When the sand has been opened, the site should be cleaned up using gloves and a mask, and the product should be disposed of with a double bag.
The set can then be exchanged for a full refund when returned to the store where it was purchased.
It can also be disposed of in a general household waste bin.
