The quip saw Neville erupt into laughter before explaining that he had gone for a wide trouser fit.

Manchester United legend Neville then hit back by saying: “What you’ll find is Carra will start wearing these in about two or three years. He’ll catch up.”
The 51-year-old then stood up to show off his trousers, adding: “I went shopping on Saturday in London. This guy styled me.
“I’ll tell you what I think they’re pretty cool. I like these.”

Carragher got one final dig in at Neville by saying: “What are they the bolo shoes?”
Unfortunately for Neville, fans at home also seemed to agree with Carragher’s point of view.
Taking to social media, one said: “Gary Neville… those trousers.”
