The CBSE Class XII examination results were declared on Wednesday, with the pass percentage dropping by 3.19 this year to 85.20.Of the total 17,68,968 students, 15,07,109 passed the examination.Girls once again outperformed boys in the examination and recorded an 88.86 pass percentage, while for boys, it stood at 82.13 per cent. However, there is a drop in pass percentage among girls and boys. Last year, it was 91.64 among girls and 85.70 among boys.The pass percentage of the Ludhiana and Panchkula regions is 87.92 and 85.73, respectively. With the pass rate of 95.62 per cent, the Trivandrum region topped the chart, followed by Chennai and Bengaluru.The Ludhiana region covers CBSE schools in Punjab, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir; and the Panchkula region covers Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.Since 2020, the CBSE has not published any list of toppers to reduce unhealthy competition among students.A total of 94,028 candidates —– 5.32 per cent of all examinees — scored 90 per cent and above, while 17,113 candidates (0.97 per cent) scored 95 per cent or more.As many as 1,63,800 candidates, comprising 9.26 per cent of the total examinees, have been placed in the compartment.Students placed in compartment or wishing to improve performance in one subject may appear in the supplementary examination scheduled for July 15, officials said.
