CCTV released in seaside town ‘murder’ probe after woman, 46, & man, 66, found stabbed to death inside home

COPS probing the suspected murders of a man and woman found stabbed to death have released CCTV images of a potential witness.

Officers say he may be able to assist their enquiries and are urging him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.

Police were called to an address in Seven Acre Close, St Leonards, shortly after 4.30am on Tuesday, June 30, following reports a man and a woman had been stabbed.

The bodies of 66-year-old Adrian Horton and 46-year-old Uschi Schild were found inside the property.

Sean Gray, 58, has been charged with two counts of murder following their deaths – he will face trial in November..

Detectives stressed the man shown in the newly released CCTV images is being sought solely as a witness.

They added that he is not suspected of any involvement in the incident.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives are keen to identify and speak with the man shown in the CCTV images.

They believe he may have information which could assist their enquiries.

Detective Superintendent Jay Mendis-Gunasekera said: “Our investigation continues at pace, and we are keen to speak with this man as we believe he may have information that could assist our enquiries.

“I want to stress that he is being sought as a witness and we are not looking for further suspects.

“If you recognise him, or if you are the person shown in the CCTV image, please contact police as soon as possible.”

Police have urged anyone with CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage from the area around the time to report online or phone 101, quoting Operation Newington.
