DON CHARLES has lifted the lid on Daniel Dubois’ emotional return to his camp – insisting it felt like the heavyweight “came back home”.
Charles reunited with Dubois six months after their very public split following the KO loss to Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley Stadium.

The Brit had briefly linked up with Tony Sims during that period, but never actually made it to fight night together.
Dubois is now set to pick up where he left off with Charles, heading into another world title fight – this time against WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley.
In an exclusive with JattvibeSport, Charles revealed why the reunion meant so much – both professionally and personally.
He said: “First and foremost, I thank God because when things happen, they happen for a reason.

“When Daniel went on his break, as a human being I was very disappointed, I believe we win together and we lose together.”
Dubois had walked away after defeat, searching for answers during a difficult spell in his career.
And Charles, who helped Dubois defeat Anthony Joshua to become the IBF heavyweight world champion, admitted the pressures of the sport can leave fighters vulnerable to outside voices.
He explained: “When you lose, you feel vulnerable. I put myself in their shoes – they must have been vulnerable with people advising them who think they know better. That’s the industry we’re in.”

Despite the split, Charles never doubted their bond would bring them back together, remarking, “The universe felt my pain.”
“They’re good people – Daniel and his father – and the rightful thing was to come back, I’m glad they came back home.”
The relationship has always appeared deeper than just boxing – something Charles was keen to stress.
He added: “He sees me as an uncle, a father, a brother – all rolled into one. That is the role I play for him and it’s vital.”
Now firmly back in the corner, Charles is focused on guiding Dubois to world title glory.
