Religious guru Ashutosh Maharaj’s Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, Bageshwar Dham, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s foundation and Radha Soami Satsang of Agra are some of the key NGOs that have received registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) by the Union Home Ministry, allowing them to receive foreign donations.Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan and Bageshwar Dham have been granted FCRA registration under the religious (Hindu), cultural and social categories. However, Bageshwar Dham has also received the status under the additional educational and economic categories.Radha Soami Satsang of Agra has received it under the religious (Hindu) and social categories, while Shikhar Dhawan Foundation has got it under the social category.Bageshwar Dham is headed by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, known for his provocative speeches and proximity to various political leaders. His NGO is based in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, while Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan is based out of the national capital. Former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s foundation is also based out of Delhi.NGOs can receive foreign donations under social, religious, educational, economic and cultural activities. These NGOs are among the 38 that have received the FCRA registration in 2026 to date. Ramakrishna Missions at Bolpur in West Bengal and Purnea in Bihar have also received it this year.
