DOC Martin could be heading back to ITV, with star Martin Clunes hinting at a movie four years after the final episode aired.
The actor teased the possibility of a comeback, delighting fans of the much-loved series.

Martin Clunes was appearing at the Goodwoof dog show at Goodwood in West Sussex when he was asked during a Q&A whether there could ever be more episodes, specials or even a movie version of Doc Martin.
The audience immediately erupted into cheers at the possibility of the beloved show returning.
Martin replied: “Never say never. We’ll see. Of course, GPs have to retire at my age, but er, yes, more on that story later!”
The star also explained that playing the doc in Doc Martin was life-changing for him.

He added: “18 years of Doc Martin was great. It was good to us. My wife Philippa produced all of it.
“That meant we could work together, take the dogs to work, it was our company. So that was life-changing. Paid for the farm!”
Martin portrayed Doc Martin’s socially awkward Dr. Martin Ellingham for 10 series across 18 years.
Although the UK ITV show ended in 2022, it has a new lease of life Stateside with the US version, Best Medicine.
In the drama, Martin has returned to play the father of Dr Martin Best, based on his original character.
Best Medicine was swiftly renewed for a second season following its popularity in America.
The 12-episode second instalment is scheduled to air in 2026/2027.
The plot follows illustrious surgeon Martin as he abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston.
Having become the GP in a quaint East Coast fishing village – Port Wenn – his blunt bedside manner soon alienates the locals.
Josh Charles plays Doc Martin, with Martin as Dr Robert Best, an accomplished gastroenterologist.
Martin’s off-screen wife Philippa Braithwaite, is an executive producer of Best Medicine, and also produced the original UK version.
Previously, Philippa revealed her hubby often dishes out medical advice as if he really is a qualified medic.
“If someone is on antibiotics, Martin will ask what they have been given, and we have to say, ’You are not a doctor!’” she said.
