The victims are hurled off their feet and left sprawled on the road as the bull continues its frenzied dash down the brightly lit street.

Moments later, the beast charges at a third pedestrian, knocking them heavily to the ground.

The bizarre incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning in the Chinese city of Changsha, in Hunan Province.

Witnesses said the bull suddenly emerged from the market area before charging along the road.

Panicked pedestrians were forced to scramble for safety as the animal thundered through the streets searching for its next victim.

The runaway bull belonged to a beef wholesaler operating inside the Mawangdui Seafood and Aquatic Products Market.

Its owner immediately alerted authorities, who rushed to the scene.

Police quickly cordoned off the area amid fears the animal could injure more people.

The bull was eventually shot dead at around 3am – almost two hours after the rampage began.

Local media reported that all three injured pedestrians were taken to hospital and remain in a stable condition.

One victim reportedly suffered a fractured rib.

The animal’s owner and market management accepted full responsibility for the incident.

They said they would cover all medical costs, rehabilitation expenses and any compensation awarded to the injured victims.

An investigation is now underway into how the bull managed to escape.

It is not the first time an escaped bull has caused chaos.

Last month, a 1.5-tonne bull smashed through the front of a barbershop in Turkey, sending staff and customers fleeing for their lives.

The animal slipped away from its owner, who was preparing to slaughter it, before crashing into the business.

Barbershop owner Resit Koni said it was a miracle nobody was seriously hurt.

“The bull came from the neighbourhood below. I was sitting here when it rushed into our shop,” he said.

“There were customers inside, including a child. I covered the child so he wouldn’t be scared.

“Pieces of glass got into my hands. We were lucky. Thank God.

“I was injured, but we had a chance to escape because the bull fell to the ground.”
