A MAN has been seriously injured in a crash during a police chase – as cops search for a dog-walker who narrowly missed the collision.
Police were pursuing a VW Golf which had failed to stop on the A6007 in Heanor, Derbyshire, just after 12.15pm on Tuesday.

As it reached Hardy Barn in Shipley, heading towards Ilkeston, the Golf crashed into a VW T-Cross travelling in the opposite direction.
The Golf driver suffered severe injuries and remains in hospital, Derbyshire Police confirmed today.

Neither the driver nor passenger in the VW T-Cross suffered serious injuries, the cops said.
A Ford Fiesta was also damaged during the collision.

Derbyshire Police are now looking to speak with an elderly man who was walking his dog and was almost hit when he crossed the road between Ilkeston Hospital and the Shipley Garden.
The force also said it will make a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct since the accident happened during a police chase.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact the force through their website or 101.
It follows another tense police chase in Hampshire in August, which saw a reckless female driver hit speeds of up to 130mph.
Tia Paget, 34, was caught on dashcam racing past other cars on the motorway and swerving between lanes before cops eventually caught up with her.
