The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on properties linked to state Minister Sanjeev Arora concluded in Ludhiana on Saturday.However, the searches continued at his premises in Gurugram for the second day.The ED team departed from his Ludhiana home around 12 noon. The raids had commenced at 6 am on Friday, including the premises of his two business partners Hemant Sood and Chander Shekhar Aggarwal.The operation was launched simultaneously across 13 locations in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurugram, and Chandigarh. Teams of the central security forces, which had been deployed at Arora’s residence in Gurdev Nagar, have also been withdrawn.The minister is currently in Europe in connection with an investment summit. As soon as the raids ended, different theories started popping up.Some believed that it was a pressure tactic to force Arora to join the BJP. However, BJP spokesperson Anil Sarin rejected the charge.Meanwhile, ED teams reached the office and residence of Neeraj Satija, another aide of Arora and Sood.According to sources, Satija and Sood were involved in a farmhouse project on Ladowal Road. The project had got the approval of the government recently. Around 40 farmhouses of an acre each were to be constructed under the project, a source said.Papers, devices seizedThe ED searches at Lovely Professional University ended on Friday night after three days of investigating into alleged violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). The agency also wound up its searches at the premises of realtor Chander Shekhar Aggarwal.Officials are so far tight-lipped on the recovery made, even though they have confirmed having confiscated certain documents and electronic devices.Aggarwal has close ties with AAP. The ED had raided his residence in Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar and office on Nakodar Road on Thursday morning. This was the second time when the central agency raided his premises.Aggarwal has seen a meteoric rise over the past decade, becoming a prominent figure in real estate and finance. He is associated with 41 firms.
