Even as the ED raids at Punjab Cabinet minister Sanjeev Arora’s residence and business premises in Ludhiana have concluded, the operation is under way at his residence in Gurugram. The ED team departed from his Ludhiana home around 12 noon. The ED raids — targeting the residences and business establishments of Arora, his son and his two business partners Hemant Sood and Chandrashekhar Agarwal — commenced at 6 am on Friday and continued through Saturday. These raids were launched simultaneously across 13 locations spanning Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Gurugram and Chandigarh. During the operation, minister Arora’s official residence in Delhi, his private home, his company offices, and even the homes of his close associates were thoroughly searched. With the exception of a few specific sites, the raids have now concluded at most of these locations. As per sources, after the ED team completed searches at Ludhiana premises of both Arora and Hemant Sood, the sleuths shifted focus to their offices in Gurugram. There is a speculation that the raids may be connected to a probe into a money laundering case. Teams from the central security forces, which had been deployed at Arora’s residence in Gurdev Nagar, Ludhiana, have now withdrawn from the premises. The minister himself is on a Europe tour in connection with ‘Invest Summit’.
