The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday extended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Punjab and Delhi by 11 and 12 days, respectively.As per the revised schedule, the final voter list of Punjab will now be published on October 12. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released on October 1.Similarly, the SIR schedule for Delhi has also been revised, with the final electoral roll now set to be published on October 19, 12 days later than the originally scheduled date of October 7. The house-to-house verification of voters by booth-level officers (BLOs) in Punjab will now continue till August 3, instead of July 24. The verification process had begun on June 25.The draft electoral roll for Punjab will now be published on August 13, instead of July 31. The revised period for filing claims and objections in Punjab is from August 13 to September 12. Earlier, it was scheduled from July 31 to August 30. The period for disposal of claims and objections in Punjab will be from August 13 to October 8.In Delhi, the house-to-house verification of voters has been extended till August 8 from the earlier deadline of July 29. The exercise in the national capital had begun on June 30. The draft electoral roll for Delhi will now be released on August 17, instead of August 5.Under the revised schedule, claims and objections in Delhi can be filed from August 17 to September 16, while the disposal of claims and objections will take place between August 17 and October 15.
