England international Gordon is certainly keen to leave Newcastle this summer with Arsenal and Bayern Munich also interested.
But it appears that Barcelona do not have the £75milion in cash it would need to sign Gordon as they are already trying to renegotiate their deal for Marcus Rashford.
Top agent Salthouse, whose agency also looks after players such as England internationals Marc Guehi and Dean Henderson, has an office in Barcelona.
He was also speaking to Deco about other players in the agency who play away from England but who could potentially be moving to Barca.

The Catalan giants have had some rough finances over the past few years and have had to get creative with how they restructure contracts just to register players for La Liga.
It’s hard to imagine they could come up with the money to tempt Newcastle into a sale this summer.
The Magpies paid an initial £40m for Gordon when they prised the 25-year-old away from Merseyside back in 2023.

But even Bayern Munich, who are also believed to have laid out terms to Gordon’s camp, are only willing to pay £55m for the winger.
Given Newcastle have to pay a sell-on fee of 15 percent to Everton, they are keen to maximise Gordon’s worth.
Given wingers like Noni Madueke and even the Newcastle-signed Anthony Elanga have gone for fees over £50m, one has to think the Toon has a good chance to getting north of those numbers.
While Gordon has not set the Premier League alight this season in a disappointing campaign for Eddie Howe‘s men, he has thrived in the Champions League and boasts some decent numbers.
He has 17 goals and five assists this season with 10 of those strikes coming in European competition.
