The 23-year-old finally returned to action a fortnight ago as sub in Toon’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Despite only making two substitute appearances since, Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel still called him up this week for the upcoming Nations League games.

Luckless Livramento was set to start for the injury-hit Mags on Saturday against Hull until he suffered an unspecified injury in training on Friday.
And now boss Matthias Jaissle is praying it is nothing long-term.

He said: “He suffered discomfort after training. He will have an MRI scan but that’s all from my side.”
Livramento’s struggle is set to become Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s fortune as he has been recalled to Tuchel’s squad.
The 27-year-old has made three starts for Real Madrid this season after missing out on World Cup selection, watching from home as England finished third.
Alexander-Arnold last featured for England as a substitute in a 1-0 win against Andorra in June 2025.

Meanwhile, Tuchel has also recalled Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, 24, after a strong individual start to the Premier League campaign.
Palmer has contributed four goals and two assists in six matches as Chelsea‘s attacking prowess has been on full display.
His most recent England outing came in a friendly loss against Japan in March.
England are scheduled to host World Cup winners Spain at Wembley on Saturday, September 26, before travelling to take on the Czech Republic three days later.
