And he is cashing in on that recognition it seems, as he revealed his new role as global ambassador for canned herbal tea drink Walovi (or Wanglaoji in China).
He appeared in multiple adverts for the brand, impressing fans by speaking several sections in Mandarin.
One video shows him appearing in a number of bizarre situations and having a drink, all scored by a remix of his signature song, a take on ‘Moskau’ by German pop group Dschinghis Khan.
Whether it was on the pitch, belching fire at a barbecue or watching a game with friends, apparently Walovi was the exact drink for the job.
