And he is cashing in on that recognition it seems, as he revealed his new role as global ambassador for canned herbal tea drink Walovi (or Wanglaoji in China).

He appeared in multiple adverts for the brand, impressing fans by speaking several sections in Mandarin.

One video shows him appearing in a number of bizarre situations and having a drink, all scored by a remix of his signature song, a take on ‘Moskau’ by German pop group Dschinghis Khan.

Whether it was on the pitch, belching fire at a barbecue or watching a game with friends, apparently Walovi was the exact drink for the job.

He also released a video speaking to the camera, saying in Mandarin: “Hello everyone, I’m Erling Haaland, global ambassador for Walovi.”

He then reverted to English to claim he uses the drink to keep him cool and refreshed, before finishing in Chinese with the tagline: “Beat the heat, drink Walovi.”

Fans loved the bizarre linkup, taking to the comments to show their appreciation for Haaland and his new brand.

One fan wrote: “This is PEAK.”

A third commented on him grinning during some segments of the videos, saying: “Bro almost broke out of character.”

And a fourth labelled him a “Multilingual king.”

He already speaks fluent Norwegian and English, as well as a solid amount of German from his time playing for Austria Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.
