THE exact date M&S will shutter a popular high street branch before it relocates to an out-of-town location has been revealed.
Come Tuesday, July 14, the Percy Pig maker will close up its branch on St Mary Street in Weymouth, marking the end of a 93-year stint on the high street.

M&S will move to a new superstore at Weymouth Gateway Retail Park, in Dorset, on July 15, so shoppers will not have long to wait before they can shop the brand’s much-loved food and clothing.
The new store will feature a food hall, cafe and “full-line” range of fashion, home and beauty offerings, as well as an in-store bakery.
At 41,000sq ft of retail space, the out-of-town location is also more than double M&S’ existing St Mary Street branch.
But news of the town centre store closing has still left some locals upset, with one branding it a “big big mistake”.

Another local said: “I really am quite sad, it’s been part of my life since I was at college in Weymouth in the 70s. I like going in most days for bits and pieces.”
While another said they would have to take “two buses” to travel to the new location, and a fourth moaned about another empty store on their high street.
The move comes as part of M&S relocation strategy. The chain has also opened two new city centre full-line stores at Bath Southgate store this February and at Bristol’s Cabot Circus last November.
M&S Food branches in Hatfield, Luton, Farnham and Oxfordshire have all recently opened doors.
And the chain is about to give a branch in Clapham Junction a makeover, as it prepares to close the branch from July 11 until September 2,
