WITH the August solar eclipse finally set to grace the UK skies tonight, millions of Brits are preparing to watch it.

Some parts of the country are set to experience up to 95 per cent obscuration as the moon passes over the sun.
And the exact moment of peak coverage and percentage of the sun that is blocked out differs depending on where you are in the UK.

Areas further north will experience peak obscuration earlier, with slightly less coverage set to be visible.
Meanwhile, those in the South West of the country will witness the peak of the eclipse last, with the most coverage visible in the likes of Cornwall and Devon.

The exact moment the solar eclipse will reach maximum obscuration this evening is 7:16pm.
At this time, in Truro, Cornwall, almost 95 per cent of the sun will be obstructed by the moon as the rare phenomenon takes place.
Data shared by the experts at the Met Office and Greenwich Royal Observatory reveals the exact minute peak obscuration will occur in other regions across the UK.
Edinburgh and Glasgow
Those in Scotland, around major cities Edinburgh and Glasgow, will see the solar eclipse reach peak obscuration at 7:06pm tonight. If you live around Inverness, the the time is 7:03pm.
The obscuration percentage will be less in this part of the UK, with around 90 per cent of the sun set to be covered.
Galway and Dublin
Galway and Dublin are both set to experience maximum coverage of the sun at 7:10pm this evening.
Roughly 94 per cent of the sun will be covered at this time.
Meanwhile, people up in Northern Ireland will experience the eclipse’s full moment earlier, with 93 per cent coverage occurring in Belfast at 7:08pm.
Manchester and Liverpool
At 7:10pm, the partial solar eclipse will hit its peak in both Manchester and Liverpool.
Those preparing to watch it unfold can expect the moon to cover around 91 per cent of the sun when peak obscuration happens.
Norwich and Birmingham
For those in parts of the midlands and East Anglia, the maximum eclipse moment will hit at 7:12pm this evening.
Those watching in these areas will witness around 91 per cent obscuration as the moon blocks the sun.

London, Bristol and Cardiff
People in London, Bristol and Cardiff will all experience peak obscuration during the solar eclipse around 7:13pm.
The obscuration percentage in London will get up to around 91 per cent, while Cardiff and Bristol will see about 93 per cent.
Cornwall and Devon
The South West of England is where the most impressive coverage will occur during the partial solar eclipse.
In the likes of Truro, Plymouth, Newquay and Exeter, a huge 95 per cent of the sun will be blacked out by the moon, with the peak moment set to happen at 7:16pm.
