FANS moaned on social media that the Champions League draw was “rigged” after being disappointed by its outcome.
The obviously unfounded claims came after Arsenal were handed some tough assignments, while Real Madrid received a comparatively favourable set of fixtures.

The League Phase draw was conducted in Monaco, with ex-Gunner Thierry Henry and former Barcelona forward David Villa helping out.
In the Swiss model format adopted in recent years, every club gets two teams from each of the four pots – one to play at home and the other away.

Arsenal were handed brutal draws from Pot 1, having to host Real Madrid and travel to Bayern Munich.
In addition to these daunting matches, they will also face Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, got Inter Milan, Arsenal, PSV, Roma, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, LASK and AEK Athens.
Moaning about the draw, one social media user wrote: “Real Madrid has rigged this DRAW”.
A second fumed: “This ucl draw format looks like the most rigged thing I’ve ever seen”.
And a third whinged: “This draw gotta be rigged”.

A fourth cried: “OFC MADRID GET THE EASIEST DRAW WTF IS THIS RIGGED GROUP OF DEATH??”
Another added: “Champions league draw obviously rigged, not watching this sport”.
Matchday one of the League Phase will take place during the week commencing September 7.
Dates of each club’s fixtures are expected to be confirmed on Saturday.
