In a major breakthrough, the Ferozepur police, in two separate intelligence-based operations, busted a major narco-smuggling networks with the arrest of three key operatives involved in drug trafficking activities and recovered 10.125 kg Heroin, 2 kg ICE (Methamphetamine), and one .30 bore Turkiye from their possession.DGP Gaurav Yadav said that those arrested were identified as Om (23), a resident of village Leli Wala in Ferozepur, Aniket Kumar (22) and Sumit (23), both residents of Shanti Nagar, Ferozepur. Apart from recovering contraband, police teams also impounded a motorcycle from them.The DGP further said that preliminary investigation revealed the involvement of an organised drug supply chain in both the networks.Police teams are working to establish backward and forward linkages in this case to identify the source, destination, and other members of both the networks, he said.Sharing operational details of the first operation, Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that a team led by CIA Staff in-charge Inspector Mohit Dhawan, acting on reliable inputs, intercepted Om near a brick kiln on the Khai Pheme Ke–Habib Ke village road. During the search, a massive consignment of 10.125 kg heroin was seized from his possession.In the second operation, the SSP said that a team led by SHO of Arif Ke police station, Inspector Balraj Singh, received reliable information that two individuals, identified as Aniket Kumar and Sumit Kumar, who were involved in the supply of synthetic drugs and illegal weapons, were travelling from the Mallanwala side towards Ferozepur on a motorcycle to deliver a drug consignment. Acting swiftly on the inputs, the police team intercepted the duo and recovered 2 kg of ICE drug and a .30 bore Turkish pistol from their possession, he said.The SSP added that further investigation was under way and more arrests and recoveries were likely in the coming days.In this regard, two separate cases were registered under relevant sections of the NDPS and Arms Act.
