A poll of 1,500 festival fans found their top musical memories also included surprise guests being brought on stage, finally hearing that one song they have been waiting all weekend to see live, and the sounds of the crowd all singing the same lyric.
Waking up and hearing music already drifting across the campsite (10 per cent) and watching the sunset (18 per cent) were also voted among favourite moments.
But it’s often the spontaneous in-between events people treasure most, as 64 per cent said festivals have created some of the most memorable moments of their lives.
While 47 per cent agreed being able to capture moments on their phone makes the experience feel complete.

The research was commissioned by Samsung UK & Ireland to launch the Galaxy A57 5G which comes complete with features such as Object Eraser and Edit Suggestion to help festivalgoers capture, edit, and share the moments they care about most.
The study also found 20 per cent share their favourite festival moments on social media within 24 hours, while 82 per cent said capturing content helps them relive the experience once the event is over.
But 25 per cent wished they had a phone feature that could remove photobombers and background distractions.
It’s not all smiles for modern festivalgoers, as experiences can quickly be ruined by common tech frustrations.
Empty phone batteries (29 per cent), accidentally dropping your phone in a muddy puddle (25 per cent) and phones running out of storage (45 per cent) ranked among the biggest festival mood killers.
Meanwhile, 15 per cent admitted that realising photos and videos did not turn out properly ranks amongst their highest bothers during the festival season.
A quarter (25 per cent) confirmed they would enjoy a festival less if they couldn’t watch back later, as many relive their memories by rewatching videos (39 per cent) or looking back at photos (48 per cent).
Long battery life for all day capturing and sharing key moments (55 per cent) and a durable design (32 per cent) have been named as some of the most useful phone features for sharing festival highlights.
