FLOYD MAYWEATHER has been offered a lucrative rematch with a boxing icon just days after making an official fight announcement.
The former five-weight world champion was supposed to throw down with fellow boxing great Mike Tyson in a Congo clash on Saturday night.

The battle of legends, which was first mooted late last year, unsurprisingly, didn’t come to fruition.
Mayweather, however, revealed this week that he’ll warm up for his September rematch with Manny Pacquiao with an exhibition bout with Greek kickboxing icon Mike Zambidis.
Despite being nearly 50, Mayweather is seemingly showing no sign of putting an end to his fighting days.
So much so that former opponent Oscar De La Hoya has challenged him to a rematch if he gets the job done against Pacquiao in their Sin City showdown.

‘The Golden Boy’, 53, told FightHype: “I am a fighter. I will always be a fighter.
“If Mayweather beats Pacquiao, Floyd, you owe me a rematch! Let’s go!”
Mayweather and De La Hoya collided in Sin City in one of the biggest fights of the 2000s.
The ageing De La Hoya turned in a stellar display against ‘Money‘ in the May 2007 melee.

But he ended up suffering a split decision loss, which would see him lose the WBC light middleweight title.
De La Hoya hung up his gloves in April 2009 but began training for a sensational comeback in 2020.
He even signed on the dotted line to face former UFC light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort in 2021.
But he was hospitalised with Covid days before the proposed bout, which resulted in a then 58-YEAR-OLD Evander Holyfield replacing him and suffering a brutal first-round KO loss.
